Der Grund liegt aber auch noch woanders. Dünnere Speichen bauen bei kleinerer Kraft eine größere physikalische Spannung auf. So kann man erreichen, dass die Spannung in beiden Speichentypen ungefähr gleich ist.

Bsp (Zahlen sind relativ willkürlich):

Linke Seite Sapim Laser 1,5 mm mit 700 N angezogen --> ca. 400 N/mm²
Rechte Seite Sapim Race 1,8 mm mit 1000 N angezogen --> ca. 400 N/mm²

Gerade für sehr asymmetrische Naben (Campagnolo) ist das sinnvoll.
