Hello everybody down under,
I’m thinking about a bicycle trip around Tasmania for 3 up to 4 weeks, beginning and ending in Hobart, 1300-1800 kilometres.
Who can send me some information, it should be not to steep (less than 5%). Campsites should be there every 60-90 k’s. Shops should be along the road.
Time: between January and April 2006. Who would like joining me?
I’m looking forward to getting information.
Thank you.

Hi Ingrid,
For informations have a look to my website. I did a 6-weeks trip around Tasmania in 2000/2001. You might find some infos and links under http://www.radtouren.ch/tasmania/tasmania.html

Dear Shauna

Thank you for your answer.
Yes I’m still panning going to Tasmania but nothing is decided yet. My journey could start between January and March.
Please tell me a little bit about your plans.
Do you still have maps and special books about the trip?
I’m looking forward to getting your answer.
Have a nice weekend.

Ingrid

Yes, perhaps I would like to join you. I live in San Francisco, USA. I will be able to ride for only 3-4 weeks in December and January. Let me know if you are interested.

Hi

Yes I’m still planning the Tasmania–trip.
It will be a round trip, starting in Hobart following the east shore up to Port Arthur, Coles Bay, St Helens, Lanceston and Devonport.
Than two ways are possible the first one is going to Wyngard and than down to Strahan, Bronte Park and Hobart.

The second way would be Devonport, Deloraine, Oatlands and Hobart. I’ll not go along the Central Plateau.

If I go I’ll leave Germany at the first or second weekend, do three weeks of cycling around and I’ll spent one week with my relatives in Hobart at the end off the trip.
When I have decided if I really go or not I’ll let you know.
Let my no a little bit about your plans and some private things like your age etc. Are you planning a camping trip, do you have experience with cycling holidays, are you a fast driver etc.?

I’m looking forward to getting some information.

Have a nice weekend.

Ingrid
