Dear all,

I am planning to tour Sinai start mid october for about 2 weeks. The weather should be good for the time of the year, the highlight of course is Mt Sinai ( St Catherine Monastery ) where I plan to camp for a couple of days to enjoy the view ... Basically looking for budget hotels, 70-100 K /day depending on the terrain - enjoyment rather than speed . Companions, ideas and any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks . Saad

Hello Jorg : YES, I am still interested. I have not figured out exact details yet but most probably starting from Amman to Aqaba ( 350 km ) cross by boat to Egypt and then tour Sinai for at least 10-14 days or more. And if we still have energy, ride to Cairo ! I have a basic mountain bike Trek 4500 and I normally do around 60-75 k/day. The best date for me would be to start around 20th October. Let me know your thoughts - Thanks. Saad

Hello Saad,

Sinai is very interesting for me, also the time ( around 14 days) and your daily distance sounds very suitable for me. But end of October is not possible for me. Would it be possible for you to do this trip later? November?
I am german, 43 years old and very much interesting in traveling, not only by bike. I also have a standard mountainbike. Jordan / Syria and Israel are other countries in this region I would like to see.
Tell me if November is ok for you, if yes we can arrange a place to meet.

Do you have private Email?

Jörg

Hi Jorg :

The last day of Ramadan is Nov 3rd - Usually, I like to take advantage of the very quiet office of the last week of Ramadan and the 1 week holiday which follows. i.e. Oct 25 - Nov 14th.
I am 42 years and part of what I do is write travel stories and take photos for a local newspaper.

Let me know if you can work around the mentioned dates ?
