i am thinking about purchasing the MSR MicroZoid (from the Canadian store MEC), does anyone have any information that would be helpful?
info such as life span, quality, set up, waterproofness and warranty would be appreciated.

hi there,
i have used the tent several times already and think it's great! the packing size, weight, wind stability and waterproofness are excellent grin it takes about 3-4 minutes to set up. there is enough room in the vestibule for a pair of panniers and your shoes.
overall i think it is a great tent (compared to a bivisack grin )

Hey there Andreas,

I ordered the Microzoid the other day, am awaiting delivery. Although I've been looking at the website it hadn't registered with me that you had posted your experiences with the tent, glad to hear they were positive. Have you been in any heavy rain in it yet?

all the best,

Jules

i'm going camping this weekend (in hope of a good rainshower)
i will let you know if got wet or not grin
but overall the msr would be to small for me on a longer trip! but it's lightweight and realy good quality .

i'm back cool
i had a shower for about 1hour and surprise surprise i didn't get wet.....
but what i forgot to mention is that in the morning there is always lots of condensation on the fly and as soon as you open the zipper to get out, the water drips down into your inner tent ooo
but otherwise i had a great night and i even saw a side-by-side tandem recumbent!
ps : i was going there with my streetmachine and bobi (the trailer)

Hi Andreas,

No, actually i'm getting a friend to get it from canada, and after considering the size i decided to go one bigger and get the Northface Tadpole 23 which i've heard good comments about. And given the 25% reduction on NF equipment in an outlet in VA at the moment, well then, no contest!

I'll let you know after i've given it a pilot test.

All the best,

Jules

I´m going to buy MSR Zoid 1 or 1,5 before my tour.

I´m going to ride Southern Tier route starting 28th of December, and currently all I have is 3 person tunnel tent. It´s little bit too large for me and therefore I´m planning to buy either of those mentioned Zoids from Los Angeles after cristmas.

Dos anyone have any experience from these Zoids?

Check out:

They have really exellent photos from meny tents if interested. wink
