Hi Mo, Good luck with your travel to UAE. I just wanted to tell you that I had the pleasure of cycling through Shiraz in 2002 and had a wonderful time; I found the city to be modern yet historic and the people to be friendly and progressive. Looking at my words, this is an incredible understatement.

Bicycling brings all people of the world together and I wish you a great journey to UAE. I would be interested in joining your trip but I'm afraid my work schedule won't allow it. If you ever come to the US please let me know and I will show you some great rides in/around New York City.

Best,
BikeSherpa

Underway in Switzerland

In 1994 the UAE were a very bicycle friendly country. No "bicycle forbidden" signs in the whole country, no motorways with bicycle forbidden. You could just cycle everywhere where cars were allowed. I hope it is still like that and remains like that in the future.

Thanks for your comment, actually I've done my journey more than a year ago, Emirates was still like what you've remember in 1994 :-) you can cycle wherever you want with your bike, you can check my website and see my photos in Emirates and other Arab countries that I've cycled there,
