Dear all experienced cyclist
I would like to cycle in UAE on next March 2008 and would like to know if the roads are safe between the cities in UAE, I heard Arab drivers really don't care of cyclist and even backpakers,but your experience will be helpful for me to confirm my decision to go or not. all comments are welcomed

I haven't cycled in the Iran so far. But I read bad things about cycling in Theran - so the Emirates are not worser than cycling in Theran. I only cycled in Dubai - and I enjoyed it. The connections between the cities are motorways and have a 2m sidewalk. Unfortunately every 50 m are bumps on the sidewalk

Regarding the maps. Do you take the ferry from Iran to Dubai? Then I recommened to buy the maps in Dubai.
