They might help you to plan your ride.

Hi,

I rode only in Ecuador, Chile and Argentina but border crossing is quite easy if you have a valid passport after you passed the US.

If you want to go from Panama to Colombia you have 3 options:
- plane
- ferry
- take a guide through the jungle called Darien Gap (there is no road, path, border)

This list is ordered by price (cheapest on top) and difficulties (easiest on top)

Try to avoid the panamericana. Most times it's a motorway. Most sights and beautiful landscapes are accessed by minor roads beside the panamericana.

Change your 100 mi diet to 50 mi diet per day. It's hard enough.

When will start?

Bye
Thomas

Offtopic: Do you have a link to a vancouver cyclists community? I'll spend my summer holidays in July in Canada (Vancouver to Calgary)

Hi Thomas. Your information is quite useful. thank you very much!
Above are a few websites i found related to cycling in vancouver.
I would recommend a trip to Vancouver Island - fantastic cycling and only a beautiful (1.5 hour) ferry ride from the mainland.
Vancouver to Calgary would make for a great tour, especially that time of year.
We plan to depart early september. still quite a lot of planning to do!
thanks again
