I know this is a bit late - but would anyone fancy to do the E2E with me this summer?

So if you haven't got anything planned, contact me! 29/f/ns

Actually, I cannot go because I will be teaching for a year. What is an end to end? Does that mean John O'Groats to Lands End? How far is that, about 800 miles?

Sounds interesting - where will you be teaching (if I may ask...)? I'm a teacher myself.

Yes, it is. Although traditionally most people cycle northwards (wind). The route can be anywhere between 800 and 1000 miles long. I haven't quite decided on the exact route quite yet smile

smile Interesting. Yes, that tour could be extended. We read that new greenways have been put in that allow motorist-free cycling.

Normally your enquiry would be welcomed as the beginning of a friendly conversation. Sorry about that, but certain very unfriendly posts that have found their ways to my mailbox have me on the defensive, and it is better to leave the details unsaid.
Teaching has been my main employment for several years. If all goes as expected, this would be a university post, and it is being looked forward to with positive and progressive expectations. It is outside my best interests to post details that might allow some malevolent person to try and muck up my plans. And judging from some of the mail that has come my way, their motives could only be questionable.

Good luck on tour. The UK was the best place for touring that I ever found. The English themselves were so courteous and friendly. The UK has a two-thumbs-up from this cyclist.
