well, in my opinion ... no risk no fun
I have a good camera bag on my stearbar [but last time it was just a basket )]
and ... you have to be always prepered to loose all your things .. othewise you stay home forever ;-)

it's just a camera:-)
your trip will be great even without it ;-))
