Wieso auf den internen Speicher?
Ich habe die immer auf die SD-Karte gelegt und hat gut funkeioniert.
grundsätzlich funktionieren beide Varianten. Für den Fall dass man auf einer SD-Karte vorinstallierte Garmin-Karten verwendet, würde ich jedoch von einer Speicherung weiterer Daten auf der SD-Karte abraten und in solchen Fällen immer diese zusätzlichen Daten in den internen Speicher legen.
