Hello, I am in the process of planning an open end cycling tour from Zurich, Switzerland, across Italy, Greece, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Israel, Egypt (for the time being). The start of the tour will be mid July. You can find my personal information on my profile.

In case you’re planning something similar, please contact me for the opportunity to exchange valuable information. Who knows, maybe be can even make part of the trip together. I would be happy to receive recommendations from cyclists with experience (maps, gear, route, etc.).

Most of the time, I am a lonely traveler, but I know and appreciate the advantages of travelling in company. I travel in my tent and love to camp in the wild. I avoid big cities when ever possible and prefer to take small, quiet roads even though they might be double as long as the main road. I love mountains and find it quite fun to cycle up and down. It might well be that I rest in a beautiful spot for a week or so. When I am on the road, the daily distance can be as little as 60 kilometers. After 90 km, I am quite happy with myself and after 100 km, I am so proud ;-) I do more kilometers only, if there is no place inviting me to rest anywhere (my max was 140 km in India…).

... well the title should have been Zurich to Capetown. Zurich to Cairo should only be the first stage of the open end trip...

Underway in Serbia

Capetown? WoW!
Anyway, there is a little chance that I could follow you to Cairo, but from Istambul or Thesaloniki because I'm from Serbia. I'll keep you on my mind smile
