Waterproof, weatherproof, water-resistant, watertight, moisture-resistant, … even “light moisture-resistant” , etc. etc. grin
Just to make an example, Ortlieb labels all its bags as “Waterproof” … then, nevertheless, in its catalogues they declare that the term “Waterproof” can be either IPX3, IPX4 or IPX7 according to EN60529/DIN VDE0470-1.
Since, as matter of the fact, between an IPX3 and an IPX7 there is an enormous difference, isn’t it time to abandon this bizarre “waterproof classification" and definitely pass to EN60529, ANSI250, VDE0470-1 or any other less ambiguous and more universally recognized standard ?

Would be better in terms of a clear definition, but absolutelly unusable for marketing. Having both in the product description satisfies both needs.

Cycling is an addiction, it can drive you quite insane. It can rule your life as truly as strong whiskey and cocaine.

I partially agree, ...the problem being that, as mentioned above, too many times a simple "waterproof" listing might be somehow misleading.
