My wife and I wll be touring southern England this summer during the month of July. I'm wondering if anyone on the list found any hostels that they would not recommend or any B&Bs that are reasonable and be a suggested place to stay for two bicyclists in their 50's.

Jerry, you should have no problem staying in so-called youth hostels in England. They are well used to, and popular with,middle-aged touring cyclists (like me!) and make an effort to find a bed for you in preference to the youth of today who often arrive by car. Their website is www.yha.org.uk
Hope the weather's kind

Hi Jerry,

been touring southern England (and on to Wales) in 98 and stayed most nights in Youth Hostels.
Am actually more a fan of camping but found the Hostels of such a flair and quality that I ended up using them all the time. Not a single bad experience! smile
