Zitat:
Hi, BROL'ers:

The saga of my gearing for a GTT continues. After reading about a good number of failures of the SRAM 3 X 9, I've pretty much decided NOT to go that route. Greenspeed has offered to replace the internal bits should I have a failure, but I can't really risk it given the often VERY remote locations where my wife and I find ourselves.

So here are my options: 1) Buy another 3 X 7 hub/wheel and go back to an 8 spd. with it's obnoxious jump to the 34T in the back. 2) Go with a Schlumpf mountain drive. This, although very expensive, is looking like the best option to get the kind of low gear we need for fully loaded touring in the mountains. So I'm interested in your experiences and opinions on the Schlumpf. Has it held up? Does it work smoothly? The webpage says OK for tandem use; just put the pedals 90 deg. out of phase. Any experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Scott
