About Holland Hostels and facilities - 05/30/04 09:07 AM

Hello!
I'd like to visit Holland with my family, hosting in Stayokay hostels.
But in the book "Guide du routard", dtd 2002, it says that Haarlem hostel's shower are dirty .
So, Could somebody tell me his experiences with Holland Stayokays?
Does somebody know Haarlem hostel? It seems that it has been re-acconditionated after 2002. In fact I need to know if each room -particularly family room - has a full bathroom (shower+W.C+lavatory).
Thanks

I don't know Haarlem hostel's.

Last year I've visited Amsterdam. We stayed in Vondelpark (Stayok) for two days. It was a very good hostel. We had two beds in a two-bed room or a four bed room for 35 € per bed and night. We had a shower + W.C.

Two days later we stayed in a budget hostel. It was much worser.

We took a family trip in Holland last summer and stayed in Amsterdamm Vondelpark and Den Haage hostels. Both were nice, friendly and finely managed: a pleasant experience, either in large or family rooms.

In Haarlem, about 15 families offer bed and breakfast to cycling tourists. Prices are really low, but conditions are strict : touring by bike, booking in advance and being a member of the Dutch non-profit organisation 'Vrienden op de Fiets' (= Friends on the Bike).

Have a nice cycling trip,

Ask the VVV (tourist offices) for places to stay. The know what is around in there town.
