Chile/Argentina - 03/24/06 03:05 AM

Has anyone toured through Chile/Argentina in November/December? Any suggestions?
I'm trying to plan a solo tour of one to two months and am interested in learning more about timing, routes, cool places to visit, and equipment. I've done some touring before so I know what's going on as far as efficiency (already have a bike)d, and I've lived in Ecuador so I can speak Spanish. Many sites online pertain to tours but it's nice to dialogue...
Thanks a bundle!!!

Hi, I've done some biking in Argentina about 5 or 6 years ago. One from Salta to the Abra de Acay and back on a different route, 7 days and about 475 km which doesn't sound much, but the highest pass is at 4895 m. The scenery is spectacular and it gets better almost every day.
And the second tour in the south, in Patagonia. We crossed the continent from Chile, where we started in Puerto Mont at the Pacific Ocean shore to the Atlantic, at Puerto Madryn, Argentina. The vastness of Patagonia is incredible impressive.
Argentina and Chile are such beautiful countries, it doesn't matter where you go...
Take care.
