Hi Rob,

we made this Route last year, and it was fantastic. We started mid of August from Manali, and the first two days were very hard, cause of two days monsun rain. Some parts of the street were not available, and we had to push our Bikes.
After the Rothang Pass wether was good, Landscape is fantastic, People are very nice. A hard part is also from Patseo to Baralacha La, but it depends on the condition of the road.
If you want additional and/or special Infos, dont hesitate to write me a privat message.

Hi Georg :

Your pictures are amazing ! What kind of camera do you use ?
I am new to digital photography and I have one of them Nikon 3.2 mega Pix - it is light, small and easy to use. Yestetrday I saw the Nikon 5 M pix - but I am concerned to carry that with me on my bike with all the shaking and bumps and possible falls - what do you think ? Thanks - Saad

Hi Saad,

sorry, this are not my pictures, i found them in the internet, and the information about this route are fine, and the photos are great.

I also made a lot of photos (slides), but with an analog SLR camera. My girlfriend had a small digital camera, but in the high altidude the quality was not the best. The colors were not allways correct (a very dark blue, more violet sky, and a sometimes the contrast is low). Maybe, if you are using a SLR camera, you can use some filters.
