Hi Gotte,
in terms of April 1st hoaxes a good candidate for the winner is the BBC - with their legendary film about the spaghetti harvest in Switzerland
- see here
This is just brilliant!
BTW, if you are heading for the Elbe river: how about cycling to the east coast of england, take a ferry to the Netherlands, and go on cycling through north western Germany (Ostfriesland) to Nordenham, take the ferry over the Weser river to Bremerhaven, turn north for a few kilometers and then start driving down the "Elberadweg" right from the start? If you want to, you may cross the Elbe river as early as Glückstadt, or in Hamburg. On this route you should have wind from aback most of the time. Good luck and a good ride!
