Hallo,
bei der Meinungsbildung zur Lage in Nepal muss man sehr genau die Mentalität der Leute ("Alles ist prima !") und die existenzbedrohliche Lage der Tourismus-Abhängigen berücksichtigen. Unten eine mail, die ich von einer Agentur aus KTM bekommen habe. Zitat : So, there won't be any problems for any visitors to travel in Nepal now and in the future. Wie naiv kann man sein ?
Auch im Herbst 2003 konnten viele Einheimische nicht verstehen, warum die 10 Dollar Gebühr der Maoisten für westliche Touristen ein Problem ist. "Das ist doch so wenig Geld für Euch, die Maos bringen Euch doch nicht um ... " usw.
Das man grundsätzlich nicht eine Knarre vor die Nase gehalten bekommen möchte, wollten die nicht wirklich verstehen. Ich habe nur sehr wenige kennengelernt, die den Touristen gegenüber offen ihre Ängste mitgeteilt haben oder verstehen konnten, dass man (wenn man die Wahl hat) derzeit lieber in ein anderes asiatisches Land reist.

Nepal news update
International telephone and internet services start operating from today morning(Feb8 2005) normally after about 148 hours of disruption.
Following the royal proclamation on the last Tuesday, all telephone (domestic as well as international)and internet services were disconnected across the country due to our country's internal security reason.
After the royal proclamation, the political situation of Nepal is absolutely normal. These days here is no more general strike nor political parties demonstration in Nepal. Once again peace and normalcy is restored. All Nepalese people are very happy with the sudden change brought by the king. During the telephone and internet disconnected period international travellers made tours and treks across the country without having any problems nor any threats from the Maoists.
We all are hopeful that the King's initiative will surely bring peace and normalcy even in the future.
From today all enterpreneurs of tourism sector are busy in receiving e-mails or inquiries from abroad. So, there won't be any problems for any visitors to travel in Nepal now and in the future.
